----THE STEPS!----
STEP ONE
Make a post to your DA journal. The post should contain your list of ten holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a ______ icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("all I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV."). The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your DA or link to this post so that the holiday joy will spread.
STEP TWO
Surf around your friends list (or friends' friends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now, here's the important part:
If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use -- do it.
You need not spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf -- to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not -- it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Give, and you might receive. and you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
----MY LIST<3----
Dear Santa...
The holidays this year are probably going to be run short. Every year the amount of gifts gets shorter and shorter, and no one has really been the same since my mother passed away. I'm not going to ask for much, just some simple things that I am merely running short on but can't seem to afford to get myself. This year probably will also be my last Xmas with my entire family, as next year I'll be going my separate ways...
I wish for...
1. Watercolor pencils. Relatively soft "led", preferably in aquatic colors. I've had to make mine last and most of them are running out...
2. Ultra-fine ballpoint sharpies. I use these for outlining my line art because they don't bleed, and my last one is drying out..
3. My dragon character, Aqua, to be recognized in the world. It is my biggest dream to have Aqua to someday become big, but it is hard to get her noticed.. I'd ask for commissions but I cannot afford it, I'd really appreciate it forever if I got a little extra help..
4. Sketchbook. I don't care what quality, it could be the cheapest sketchbook out there, it could even be a notebook of paper tied together with a string, I just would love a book of white paper to work with as mine I've made last for two years and it's finally running out..
5. Motivation. Sometimes with all the stress my family puts me through and all the doubts that my dreams will become real, a little motivation to continue my art work goes a long way.. I poured my heart and soul into my Aqua character and it's hard to get motivated when sometimes I see doubt in being able to make her famous like I am trying so hard to make her..
